Wow, it feels like I have just gotten here and I go home tomorrow. I can’t really put into words what this experience has been like. It was my first time traveling to teach and I am blown away by numerous things…. first, the women here are so warm and friendly. I feel as though I have known them forever. Susan Favro, http://www.sewmuchsmarter, helped to set up this trip! She is a class act through and through. If you are EVER considering doing anything that involves her, don’t hesitate!!!!!! Second, I can’t believe the number of women in each of the classes. My class in Missoula had around 40 and the two in Spokane had about 50 each. I kept thinking…. do they know who they are taking a class with? It’s just me.
The third thing that blew me away about this trip is I became a public speaker. The first lecture I did was to the Missoula Quilt Guild. There were about 100 people there and I didn’t throw up! My public speaking teacher would be so proud. I was proud of myself as the thought terrified me. But again the women were so incredible!
It was a lot of fun meeting my online friends! Peggy Holt, Keri Brunell (sp?), Charyl Sieler, pam Schenk, Shelly Seiverkropp, Donna James, Jean Shute, Sharon Moorhead and more.
They were such a talented bunch of ladies! Here are some pictures.
See what I mean! Talented! I am off to the guild meeting and to do a trunk show, then home tomorrow. Fun Trip!
Looks like a lot of very talented quilters are this workshop!
I hope our guild has you booked! You are realizing your talent and how eager we are to see more!
Thank you Jody! What guild do you belong to?
I feel honored to be in your class. This weekend has just been a blast. I just have one question for you. Was it your hotel room the police showed up at to breakup the wild party last night ?? LOL. Just kidding….. Pam
It was great meeting you! I am glad you had a good time. Maybe it would have been my hotel room if you had been around. You look like you could get into some trouble. 😉
It was a great class! I recommend these classes to anyone, novice and skilled both! I am thrilled to be able to everyone work again! So much creativity!
Thanks Cathy! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Well I have to tell you, yesterday was my birthday and couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.
Thanks for sharing all the great ideas for quilting from your classes! Wish I could attend!!! I think I need to make a couple of test quilts and try some of them. A couple of these really appealed to me! Looks like both you and your students had a great time 🙂
Amazing ideas!
Wow! When are you coming to Wisconsin?
As soon as someone asks me to come!!
I enjoyed looking at your patterns. What size squares are you using? Specifically each small square in order to get your quilting designs to work properly?
I hope to try out some of your design ideas on my next project.
HI Cathie,
It doesn’t matter what size squares they are just as long as they are the same size. I think these were 2 inches.
I have a masterclass on this design technique if you are interested. I am going to be launching again in Sept. here is a link to the waitlist. https://lisahcalle.com/pages/heirloom-quilting-academy
