Our middle son, Noah, is graduating for Owen J Roberts High School on tonight! I am so proud and in disbelief as to how fast time has flown by over the past 17 1/2 years. He will be attending the University of Delaware this fall, we couldn’t be more excited for him and know he will continue to make our family proud.
Why Not Celebrating Education with a DVD Sale?!
While many families are hosting graduation parties I decided to add a little something to my graduation festivities and host a “Graduation Sale”!
So now through 6/12/17 take advantage of my $20 DVD Sale!
Maybe you’ve been curious on how I come up with my quilting designs. My Divide and Design method makes the concept of configuring how to quilt as easy as 1-2-3! Take all the guess work out of “how to” by utilizing this video! For $20 you can put easy peasy into your design process!
Perhaps whole cloth is more your style. If that’s the case then Mastering the Mini will be right up your alley! You will be a master of your own mini after this tutorial! Yes, it’s just $20!
The past two weeks were a whirlwind. I was at MQX East where I spent the week with some very talented quilters.. my students. I always learn so much from them. I launched a new class All Marked Up! It was so much fun. It was a round table discussion on marking tools and all 25 students participated. It was such a great class I can’t wait to “teach” it again.
Of course I taught ruler classes, my Divide and Design technique and Mastering the Mini. Here are some pictures….

Mastering the Mini!
And of course, my Sis, Judy is there with me. She’s the one that makes sure all the students are sufficiently caffeinated with coffee and chocolate..
We always try and squeeze in some fun as well…. Judy surprised me with a quilt she made me…. Love it!
Always a great time! Can’t wait till next year! Hope to see you there.
As many of you know, I have recently become a HandiQuilter Ambassador. My new Fusion came to me in May and I was quite excited and ready to jump in.
Now, those of you who teach will understand…. I don’t get a lot of time to quilt. 😦 I know, you are all thinking, poor Lisa. A lot of my time is spent on class preparation and developing new classes. My online business also keeps me hustling. So while I had a chance to play a little once I got it set up, I didn’t have a lot of time. This past week, I got a chance to quilt! Yeah me….. Here is what I was working on….
Its been rainy the past couple of days but we have really needed it so I am not complaining. Not nearly like what has been going on in Texas. I hope all of my Tx friends are well.
Working diligently on projects for my book. I will be a quilting fool soon. I have 3 that are ready to be quilted. I think I should have done them as I went. Nahhh, that would be too easy. Here is a peek…
ok, so maybe that’s not a peek but a tease…. I have missed my BERNINA and it felt good to be sewing again. I tend to get bogged down in the day to day business stuff. P.S. the fabric is from my friend Barb Persing’s new line by Island Batiks….. Lavish. It will be out in Jan 2016. 🙂
This wonderful quilt was made by Robyn Cuthberson using my Mastering the Mini technique. Way to go Robyn, You did a fabulous job. She learned all about it on my Mastering the Mini DVD. I’d say she mastered it.
is right around the corner! Have you signed up for your classes? I am teaching a number of classes and would love to see you there…
Mastering the Mini and Making it yours is one of them. This is a 2 part class. The first part is on Wednesday April 8th 8-12p, we will be learning a simple method of designing. This can be used for a whole cloth (which is what we will be designing), a simple block in a quilt or to design a spectacular border design… Day 2 April 9th 1-5p, , we move to the machines to stitch out your creations. I will be on hand to guide you in using templates, stitching out beautiful motifs and finally stitching out the fill work! This is like 5 classes in one! Don’t miss out!
I love whole cloths! There is something so elegant about just a piece of fabric and thread. The problem with whole cloths as I saw it was that there was a lot of measuring (which I totally dislike) and a lot of marking ( which I detest as well). Maybe you feel the same way?
In my Mastering the Mini, I teach you how to create a one of a kind whole cloth with no measuring and minimal marking! What could be better?
Crown Jewels: Won HM at Houston International quilt festival
I used this method to create Crown Jewels and it did quite well on the show circuit. 🙂
I will be teaching this class at Birds of a Feather (Feb 7, 1:30-6) and MQX (April 10, 8-12p) (2 day and a 4 hour class)
Now, Mary from MQX has convinced me to do a hands on Mastering the Mini and More class…. what is this, you ask? Well, it is a 2 part class, The first day (4 hours) will be spent designing your mini and marking it! I provide you with the white fabric ( feel free to bring your own or I will have some luscious Radiance for sale, just the right size) and thread.
The second day, we will spend this time on the machines stitching out your beautiful masterpieces. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with. Make sure you sign up today as space is limited to 12 students… one per machine.

Here are some of the drawings from a previous Mastering the Mini class… these ladies have some wicked talent! Don’t miss out.
