Have Wings Will Travel

Yep that’s where I’m headed, but what’s wrong with the picture below? If you said, ” The plane is not in the air” you would be correct!

Red Rocks Resort for Bernina University is my ultimate destination.  This amazing facility is where the Bernina dealers gather each year and are introduced to future BERNINA, concepts and ideas.  We also are given the opportunity to hear about new products, so exciting!  This year brings a little addition to my time at the University as I am teaching two classes tomorrow, both focused on how rulers are used and the most effective ways to sell rulers in shops.

PAST

The travel for this yearly jaunt seems to be a challenge, last years trip was to New Orleans.  During that little adventure I was supposed to play golf on an incredible course, but as my luck would have it I flew into Charlotte and had to stay the night.  The next day I took Con Air to Miami and eventually arrived in New Orleans.  Obviously I missed the golf experience.

BACK to PRESENT

10:27 am Monday, I should be half way to Las Vegas, but now that we are refueled and pushed back we have been advised that we are being rerouted. So I sit and wait once again but at least my seats mates are cool!

I told my row that once that drink cart is within my line of vision the first beverage is on me.  At this rate we could be having milk and cookies as a bedtime snack.

6:09 pm No bedtime snack required, I finally made it! Now let’s get happy and make the most of my time at BERNINA University.

Do you have one trip that undoubtedly brings adversity and frustration to your travels? If so please share!

One Step Forward

I am completely overwhelmed with the response to my last post.  Thank you all for your words of encouragement!  It really has helped make this less painful knowing that you all are there!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now that I have made the decision to move on with, my less than perfect quilt; it is time to keep taking steps forward. Therefore the center portion of this quilt is now completely finished, and this was accomplished by enhancing the design with little pebbles.

Yes, they are tiny aren’t they? If you are wondering how I executed this technique well wonder no more, the secret to my success can be viewed in this tutorial.

Watch and You will No Longer Need to Wonder!

It wasn’t a great angle…. sorry, didn’t realize till I was done.

Pebble Variation

See how easy that is to achieve! And now YOU can put some small pebbles into your design.  If you have decided to take a step forward and place small pebbles into your project I’d love to see what you have done! I encourage you to share your efforts with me via email, lisahcalle@me.com

And stay tuned for the next step I take along this unexpected journey!

Exciting News!!

I am excited to share with all of you that I am the newest BERNINA longarm spokesperson!!  I am thrilled to be working with such a wonderful company and promoting an incredible brand!

I have just returned from New Orleans where I attended my first BERNINA University.  This is where all of the dealers across the country and some from out of the country come and learn about the new products that BERNINA has to offer!  To say it is an educational whirlwind is putting it mildly!   The Q-matic which is the computer component to the longarm made its appearance and everyone was so excited… myself included.  I had the opportunity to do a little work with it back in April and am excited to get it into my studio soon.

The domestic ruler foot #72 made its debut as well.  This was highly anticipated and did not disappoint.  We all wanted to sneak them into our pockets to take home… alas, that did not happen, as I gave up first born (sorry Brandon) to get to try it out.  LOL  Just kidding… they really are in high demand though.  Make sure you reach out to your dealer so they know you want one.  Once you have this ruler foot you will then be able to use all of the  Quilter’s Groove Rulers on your domestic machine… YEAH!!!

If you are a fan of the Quilter’s Groove Rulers, please let your shop know that they are available to stock in their store either  through me or BREWER.  What a convenience to be able to place the ruler order along with all of their other quilt shop needs.  They have all  been repackaged for their quilt shop debut!

For those of you who have been following my block of the week posts… fear not,  I have just pushed that post till tomorrow.

If you are interested in seeing and hearing about the features of the BERNINA Q24 and her little sister the Q20, you can check it out here.
