A little quilting and a little cooking

Full on Feathers and Fill Folly

We will get straight to the good stuff. I had so much fun putting together a MetroRing quilt as a gift. Of course that quilt is still unquilted but I had some left over blocks and made this little sample for a class I will be teaching in March at the BERNINA creative center! It is a 2 day class… called Full on Feathers and Fill Folly. Can’t wait as this will be the first time I travel to teach again.

Now what you may or may not know… I have taken up the hobby of cooking. Is that even a hobby? I mean it is a necessity so I hesitate to call it a hobby. But any whooo… I have been enjoying it immensely. Last weekend, I tried my hand at cooking Red wine braised short ribs with mashed potatoes.. omg… they were delicious.

My other new thing… homemade pasta! This is so much fun and tastes amazing. Here are some pics from that adventure.

So yummy… Here is a yummy recipe to go with the homemade pasta. Creamy Mozzarella Shrimp pasta. Enjoy!!

  1. Lisa, that quilt is absolutely gorgeous! When I grow up I want to quilt as beautifully as you!! Enjoy your new cooking hobby!

  2. Question, is the quilting shown exclusively longarm? Do you do any quilting on your sewing machine? I had to give up my longarm because I am in a wheelchair now and I am having a terrible time quilting with a sewing machine. Looking forward to your reply. barbodette@gmail.com

    • Hi Barbara, I do all of my quilting on a longarm but many of my students quilt on a domestic machine. Have you thought of getting a larger sit down machine? Do you know who Debby Brown is? She is a fantastic domestic quilter.

  3. Hello! Love this quilt! I want to make one for my brother and his fiancee. Did you take note of any of the fabric lines you used? I am very color challenged and would appreciate any information you might have! Thanks!
